We are very proud that we were rated as ‘Good’ in our last Ofsted inspection in January 2020. But that doesn’t stop us striving to achieve ‘outstanding’ in our next inspection.
The Ofsted report says:
On entering this playgroup there is a buzz of excitement. All children are motivated and fully engaged in their play. Children move confidently around the room and outside selecting their own play. They show that they are happy and content in this safe, secure and stimulating environment. Children are extremely well behaved and have an eagerness to learn.
The outdoor area provides children with an extensive range of learning opportunities.
Staff have a very proactive approach to working in partnership with parents. They arrange regular meetings to support parents in contributing to their children’s early education and well-being. Staff provide regular feedback about children’s progress and are extremely supportive towards families
Children explore the natural world and enjoy learning about nature
Funding and fees
Please contact us to find out more information about our fees.
In certain circumstances you may be eligible for government funding to enable your two year old child to have free sessions at our playgroup. This will be based on certain eligibility criteria, including being in receipt of certain benefits. For more information please contact the Childcare Improvement Service on 01629 539319.
Three and four year old children are eligible for 15 hours of subsidised childcare, starting from the term following their third birthday. Some families are eligible to an additional 15 hours per week due to their working circumstances. You can find more information about this on the Childcare Choices website.
There is a non-refundable £35 Registration Fee for all new starters – this secures your child’s place at Playgroup and covers administration costs. The Registration Fee for children who are using only their funded hours will be refunded in full within two weeks of children starting. Please contact us for the relevant registration forms.
Our Playgroup is a registered charity and is run by a Management Committee made up of parent volunteers. The Committee consists of a Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Fundraising Officer and Committee Member. If you wish to contact any member of the Committee please visit our Contact us page.
We are very keen to involve parents in the running of the Playgroup. Parents are very welcome to attend our quarterly meetings, and we love to hear your feedback and ideas. If you are interested in becoming involved in the committee please let us know.
